We're in the EndGame now...
There are some lines of dialogue from books, movies, TV programmes, and especially gaming sessions that stick with us. Recently, this was one of those for me. Why? Because it was amongst the final words spoken by my all time favourite Marvel Superhero Dr Strange, just before he was vapourised by Thanos in the Avengers: Infinity War movie.
As it transpires, this was a massive clue to the title of the next movie in the MCU which went on general release in the UK this week called (you guessed it) Avengers: Endgame
So this got me thinking...
What other quotes and dialogue have stayed with me over the years? Well, here are a few:
"May the Force be with you" - pretty much every Star Wars movie ever
"Damn it man, I'm a doctor not a [insert profession of choice to fit situation]" - Dr McCoy from Star Trek
"The Prophecies shall be fulfilled" - Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time
"Kill them all
But what about the innocent?
Screw the innocent, we'll Rez 'em later" - 2 Angels in Forever's Destiny LARP discussing the best way to locate an evil person in a crowd
"A man may change his form, but his heart remains the same forever" - Count Strahd von Zarovich in James Lowder's Knight of the Black Rose
"He improvised! He adapted! He overcame!" - Gunnery Sgt Highway (Clint Eastwood) in Heartbreak Ridge
"Five gold" - 'Bob' the Swirfneblin Priest repeating the only thing he EVER said in a weekly AD&D game that lasted just over 3 years.
So tell us, what has stuck with you over the years?
